When and why to extract pages from a PDF

Most real-world PDFs are mixed bags: a 200-page bank statement where you only need January, a meeting deck where you want to share three slides with a client without revealing the rest, a textbook scan where one chapter is the only thing relevant. The PDF Page Extractor lets you load the source PDF, type the pages you want using compact range syntax (1-3, 5, 8-10, 15-20), and download a new PDF containing only those pages, preserving the original layout, fonts, and bookmarks. Behind the scenes it uses pdf-lib running entirely in your browser — the file never leaves your machine, so you can safely process confidential statements, contracts, or unpublished drafts. Quick presets (Odd, Even, First 10, Last 10) cover common cases like printing only the front-facing side of a duplex scan, or grabbing the executive summary from a long report. All this without the upload-and-wait flow of typical online PDF tools.

Page range syntax cheatsheet

Single page: just the number ("5"). Range: dash-separated ("3-7" includes 3, 4, 5, 6, 7). Multiple: comma-separated ("1-3, 5, 8-10"). Spaces, full-width digits, and en/em-dashes are tolerated. Out-of-range numbers (e.g. "50" in a 30-page PDF) are flagged inline. Reversed ranges like "9-3" are auto-corrected. To select every page, just type the total ("1-30"); to keep one page, type its number alone.
